My Beliefs
I have been a Christian my entire life. My parents tended to church-hop when I was younger, so I got to experience several forms of worship and different protestant denominations that included mainly the Christian Church, along with the Baptist Church, the Church of God, the Methodist Church, and a Wesleyan Holiness Church. I later joined the Presbyterian Church and was ordained as a deacon when I began dating and eventually married my wife Natalie. But most of my adult Christian life has been spent in a contemporary non-denominational church, where I have served teaching children and serving on prayer teams. All-in-all, I have been sprinkled twice and fully immersed twice in baptism. I don't necessarily identify with one denomination or another. At the end of the day, I'm a child of God and a Christian who absolutely loves Jesus Christ.
I believe in Jesus Christ, son of the living God, who died on the cross and rose from the grave for my sins. John 3:16, Romans 5:8
I believe in the awesome power of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2
I believe that because I trust and have faith in Jesus that I have received the free gift of salvation through God's grace. And because of my salvation I strive to be like Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7
I believe in observing the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
I believe in the importance of daily communication with God through prayer, meditation, and reading the Holy Bible. John 16:24, 1 Peter 2:2
I believe in the importance of confessing my sins, asking for forgiveness, repentance, living an obedient life, and living by the fruits of the spirit. 1 John 1:9, Galatians 5:13-26
I believe in living by the two greatest commandments; loving God with all my heart and soul, and loving others as Christ loved me. Matthew 22:35-40, John 13:34
I believe in discipleship through the great commission. Matthew 28:19-20
I feel personally convicted toward helping others learn and embrace the Bible. I also feel a deep personal conviction toward giving back to God a portion of what he has so graciously given me, with hopes of him using it to further his kingdom. 1 Peter 2:2, Hebrews 4:12, Luke 12:48
Everything else to me is just doctrinal red tape. Titus 3:9

I have been a Christian and have been involved in church my entire life, but it wasn't until I was 44 years old that I truly had a desire and a hunger to study and embrace the word of God. It just goes to show that we're all part of a divinely orchestrated work-in-progress.
